When building sites in EVlogic, a few keyboard shortcuts can significantly speed up your workflow.
The Escape key is a fast way to close pop-up windows without returning to the toolbar.
Common uses include:
Closing validation or notification windows
Exiting placement or edit modes
Deselecting all currently selected objects
For example, after reviewing connection warnings, simply press Esc to close the window and continue working.
Holding Ctrl while left-clicking allows you to select or deselect individual objects on the map.
This works similarly to multi-select behavior in other software and is useful when you want to fine-tune a selection without clearing existing objects.
Holding Shift, then left-clicking and dragging, creates a selection box.
Any objects touched by the selection rectangle will be selected. This is an efficient way to select multiple objects at once across the map.
| Key / Action | What It Does | When to Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Esc (Escape) | Closes pop-up windows and exits active tools | Quickly dismiss alerts, validation messages, or placement modes |
| Esc (Escape) | Deselects all selected objects | Reset your selection before moving on |
| Ctrl + Left Click | Adds or removes individual objects from a selection | Fine-tune selections without clearing everything |
| Shift + Click + Drag | Selects all objects touched by the selection box | Quickly select many objects across the map |
These shortcuts can be combined with EVlogic’s selection tools to move, rotate, align, or edit multiple objects quickly.
